Alta wall furniture

Design can be a powerful force to improve the lives of consumers who are not living in traditional space or not using their home environments conventionally, something Furniture Category Design Award winner Z-Line not only realized but decided to apply with its Alta Wall furniture.

For consumers living in apartments, duplexes and townhouses, Alta Wall Furniture from Z-Line Designs reduces the space necessary to mount televisions and associated electronics. However, its application goes beyond smaller living space. The product also gives consumers living in conventional houses more options in arranging space to suit their living conditions.

The Alta line isn’t only convenient in use but also in assembly. It was crafted to offer easy single-stud mounting. An easy mount wall template also is part of the Alta package, and it lets purchasers decide what the ideal position for the product is without having to hold the metal frame against the wall. Removable covers make running cables simple. And a shelf that can accommodate a surge protector is located behind a bottom cover.

To ensure it can be placed in a wide range of home locations, Alta Wall furniture offers stylish tempered safety glass shelves and a bent wood-styled frame. The product features an integrated height-adjustable tilt mount that holds up to most 42-inch flat panel television screens.

According to Jim Sexton, Z-Line president, the inspiration for the Alta came about when the company’s designers developed concepts for space saving solutions for their own everyday tech products. They wanted to create flat panel wall furniture based on “an innovative, sleek design for the consumers seeking space-saving solutions that didn’t compromise function or style,” he said.

The major trends that spurred the space saving Alta Wall Furniture development concepts included the housing market crash, people of all sorts who were moving into smaller spaces and, among that key audience, Baby Boomers who were downsizing their living spaces.

In responding to the trends, Z-Line developed a number of furnishing concepts that might accommodate flat panel televisions but found that wall furniture provided the most elegant solution while offering the most benefit in small spaces.

Once they made that determination, Z-Line designers determined to make Alta Wall Furniture easy to use, hence the developed of the easy mounting template. Understanding that the consumer can be intimidated by installation of wall mounting systems, Z-Line took pains to ensure than anyone who understood how to use a stud finder, drill and level could easily install Alta Wall Furniture.
