Triscale Kitchen Scale

Joseph Joseph took home top Best in Category honors at this year’s Housewares Design Awards in the Countertop Kitchenware category for its compact Triscale. The company, which has built its brand on innovative design and solution-oriented kitchenware, was focused on storage solutions when designing the Triscale. This unique countertop digital scale brings a whole new meaning to the concept of space-saving kitchen gadgets, with its three fold-out legs that close to a footprint size that would fit in any kitchen drawer.

“It’s all about storage,” said managing director Richard Joseph about the scale’s foldable design, noting that the company worked to create the smallest footprint possible when the scale is not in use. He added that a lot of people are living in smaller spaces with small kitchens, so there is a need for functional tools that store easily for today’s consumer.

The company, founded by Joseph and his brother, Antony Joseph, always keeps the consumer in mind when designing all of their products. “We focus on how to make a product function better, and also how to create a product that the consumer will have an emotional attachment to,” said Richard Joseph.

When open, the Triscale kitchen scale’s three arms provide a stable platform on which to place bowls and other items for weighing. When closed, the unit folds down to an extremely compact size, enclosing and protecting the screen and controls, which makes for easy storage in a kitchen drawer.

Other features include an easy-to-read LCD display, touch-sensitive controls and an auto power-off function. A convenient Add & Weigh function allows multiple ingredients to be measured in the same bowl during recipe preparation. The scale weighs and measures in the following units: grams, pounds, ounces, fluid ounces and milliliters. The scale can weigh up to 11 pounds and is powered by an included battery. The Triscale is available in a kitchen-complementary green hue.
