Hurom HG Series Premium Slow Juicer / Smoothie Maker

The Hurom HG Series Premium Slow Juicer/Smoothie Maker, recipient of Best in Category honors at the 2014 Housewares Design Awards in the Countertop Food Prep Appliance category, is Hurom’s top-of-the-line model. The high-end juicer offers a number of enhancements over previous models, including a new motor that operates at only 50 RPM— compared to the 80 RPM of conventional slow juicers— for nearly silent operation, while still delivering optimal performance in extraction.

Its patented dual-stage‚ “Slow Squeezing System” technology works like a mortar and pestle, first crushing foods to be juiced, then pressing them to ensure the highest juice yield— without aerating the juice.

The slow juicer category has been among the fastest growing small appliance segments as consumers have become increasingly aware of the role that juiced fruits and vegetables can play in fostering improved health and nutrition. This broad-based trend has further served to focus attention on slow juicers in particular as growing numbers of consumer have recognized the technology’s ability to minimize damage to active enzymes.

“It really has revolutionized juicing to create a much better experience in terms of consuming extracted juice, which is medically proven to be the best delivery system of nutrition to you,” said Jim Eastin, vp/sales at Roland Products, Inc., U.S. distributors of Hurom juicers. “The product has many features that really create a great out of box experience for the consumer.”

The Hurom Premium Slow Juicer/Smoothie Maker also employs a new, patented Pulp Control Lever and Juice Cap designed to allow greater control and customization of beverage preferences. Consumers can close the Juice Cap to mix multiple fruit or vegetable ingredients, and then open it to release a perfectly blended juice or smoothie. The Pulp Control Lever allows users to manage the amount of pulp remaining in their juice after extraction. For those who prefer a thicker, richer taste, the Pulp Control Lever can be moved partially or completely toward the close position to retain more pulp in the extracted juice, according to preference, or to create a smoothie.

For those who have more diverse juicing tastes the included fine and coarse strainers make it possible to juice anything from bananas and avocados to kale, wheatgrass, even nuts and soybeans. When juicing is done the unit’s advanced self cleaning function makes cleanup easier.
