Forte Salt & Pepper Shakers

Nambé’s Forte Salt & Pepper Shakers, which took home the Best in Category award in the Countertop Kitchenware category at the 2017 Housewares Design Awards, bring together the brand’s signature alloy and concrete in one set.

Smooth to the touch and coated with a food-safe lacquer, Nambé’s Forte Salt & Pepper Shakers feature one alloy and one concrete vessel which seamlessly align, making it easy to carry the pair to the table. With the chic, contemporary design elevating this oftentimes basic kitchen staple, it allows the salt and pepper shaker set to sit beautifully on a concrete countertop as well.

“Our tradition is to be on the cutting edge of design, and I translate that into being on the cutting edge of where the market is going,” said Bill Robedee, Nambé’s president and CEO.

“Concrete is a trend in home furnishings. We’ve seen it in polished concrete floors and kitchen countertops. Retailers such as Restoration Hardware are using concrete in accent furniture like cocktail and end tables. Forte has had a very warm reception as being right on trend and a nice medium to incorporate with our alloy,” added Lou Scala, Nambé’s chief marketing officer.

This award winning set is part of a larger collection, designed by Steve Cozzolino. Nambé’s Forté collection expands across categories. It includes a wine coaster and wine chiller, bowls, condiment trio, candlesticks, ice bucket with tongs, and paper towel holder, all keeping the same alloy/concrete aesthetic.

Part of Cozzolino’s design goals with his products is “to achieve a sensibility and innovation that is empathetic to the consumer, and above all, elevates our lives on a daily basis.” Further, his design work is about “creating memorable experiences that engage the senses through fluid and sensual form, treating everyday objects as unique sculptural art and fashion for the tabletop.”
