Classic 7-inch Ultimate Everyday Knife

By combining the features of several different types of knives into one, the Wüsthof Classic 7-inch Ultimate Everyday Knife was awarded the Housewares Design Award Best in Category for Cutlery & Cutting Tools.

Wüsthof explained that the knife has a clip-point tip for light butchering and maneuverability around joints, something typically assigned to chef’s knives. It also has a hollow edge for smooth, precise slicing/carving and a versatile 7-inch length. Its increased width at the bolster is designed for a rocking motion and the recessed bolster is designed for the use of the entire blade and ease in sharpening.

The Everyday Knife is designed to tap into the farm-to-table movement that has been gaining a robust, national following. This traditional movement focuses on the simplicity of food harvesting and consumption, challenging consumers to change the way they approach the intimate craft of creating a meal. The trend, fueled through what is said to be the art of patience and respect in terms of the way consumers look at and prep food, is redefining traditional culinary relationships and how consumers view the food they eat.

The Everyday Knife hybrid design was created with the notion of “simplicity as sophistication,” and encompasses the spirit of the farm-to-table movement, stated Wüsthof, offering consumers the ability to tackle many kitchen tasks with a single, multi-functional tool.

From fresh produce prep and home butchering, to the final step of carving or slicing to plate a meal, the company noted that the design award winning Everyday Knife has varied functionality to meet all of these diverse cutlery needs.
