Drop Wet/Dry Rechargeable Epilator

Expanding on its line of wet/dry epilators, EpiladyUSA Inc.’s Drop Wet/Dry Rechargeable Epilator uniquely merges form and function, earning it the Housewares Design Award Best in Category for Personal, Health & Garment Care.

According to Amir Abileah, vp/Epilady, epilators have been gaining traction at the retail level around the world. “The Drop is our third wet/dry epilator. What we found is that many users actually still use them on dry skin, rather than in the shower, but they surely love that these devices are washable and may be used in a wet environment if the owner so chooses,” he noted.

The Drop’s sleek and upscale design is relatively large, at 5.5-inches in length, making it easier for users to grasp in a wet environment. In addition, the tapered shape of the machine allows users with different size hands to find a comfortable hold on the device while its silicone outer ring makes it less slippery.

“It is fairly new to the U.S. market, but one thing is certain: Buyers and consumers alike love the Drop. The device is shaped like a water drop, hence the name, and the color scheme of a pearl white body and blue silicone band screams ‘fresh, clean and elegant,’” said Abileah.

The epilator includes an increased number of tweezers— 40% more than the company’s previous generation of epilators— and two epilation speeds.

The design also includes a charging stand that allows the device to remain on the user’s bathroom counter. This is an added design feature, which Abileah noted is not often seen in women’s epilators, and helps “take the Epilady Drop out of the closet and into the light.”

The Drop epilator also features a push button on/off and speed selector switch, and a loop for hanging storage also supports the devices’ convenience factor.
